UPDATE TO THE NOTICE TO ALL RAYC MEMBERS

Following on from the postponement of the AGM the Executive Committee of the Royal Artillery Yacht Club conducted a conference-call meeting on the 19th March.
The Commodore congratulated Nik Barnes, Rear Commodore Windsurfing, on the Gunner Windsurfing Team achieving 1st place as Inter-Corps Champions in the finals held between the 9th and 13th March. A full account of the team performance is available on the Gunner Website.
The Executive meeting was primarily concerned with an impact assessment of the Pandemic on the activities of the Club. A number of key decision were made on how we will operate over the next few month and further information management of the Club will be published. Key issues over events and planned activity include:
The Seaview Keel boat Regatta in May is Cancelled and we will concentrate on the 2021 75th Anniversary Event
Planned Offshore Adventure Training has been suspended. Main impact is on the Tall Ships Race entry for St BV.
Offshore Yacht Bookings remain extant but under review and new guidance on cancellation policy will be issued shortly.
Offshore Yarmouth Regatta No change to planned dates at this stage.
AGM New dates will be arranged in Autumn 2020. There may be a combined event with a Laying Up Supper.
Award Winners for the 2019 Season will be notified by letter from the Commodore and published as usual in the Yearbook. Presentation will be made and a suitable event later in the year.
The Year book will be published as normal.
In the meantime, please keep an eye on the website for guidance on the availability of the Gunner yachts and future fixtures.
The meeting welcomed the new Commodore, Col Chris Gent. The Honorary Secretary thanked the outgoing Commodore, Col Neil Wilson, on behalf of the Committee, on his tenure as Commodore. The Honorary Secretary congratulated Col Neil on the great progress the Club has made under his leadership and undertook to make a full and proper presentation to him once circumstances allow.
