The boat booking system for the 2021 season is now open. Before making any advanced bookings, Members need to be aware of four important points:
1. Advanced boat bookings and individual sailing plans MUST be made in line with the Government / RYA guidance on COVID. Based on the latest guidance, restricted day sailing can resume from the 29th March and overnight stays with your own family bubble will be permitted from 12th April, and from the 17th May with two households or in a group of no more than six people. At the this stage, " more normal sailing" is due to return not before the 21st June. For all dates in 2021, it is assumed that crews will still have to follow additional COVID Boat Cleaning Rules and SOPs.
2. When booking a boat, members / skippers need to fully understand and accept the latest Boat Bookings Terms and Conditions. This includes an acceptance of a liability for booking cancellations (para 9) and a significant increase in the skipper's damage liability (see para 18-19).
3. Members are reminded that they cannot make more than two advanced summer bookings (1st April - 30th September) for a maximum of 2 weekends, or no more than 14 days in total (see Terms para 6 for more details). And for insurance purposes, they must also complete an online crew list prior to departure.
4. When making a booking, members / skippers need to fully understand the skipper and crew qualifications that are required for different passage plans and different weather conditions. Full details are outlined in para 21 of the Terms and Conditions. The skipper / booking member will be FULLY LIABLE for any damage or loss incurred if the boat is being used outside the scope of these rules.
The terms and conditions on this website take full precedent over past terms and conditions, or information that may appear in the RAYC Year Book.
