St Barbara V Successfully Departs on the RAYC's Round Britain Challenge

Published 9:39am on 24 May 2021

She's off!

In strong westerly winds St Barbara V slipped from her berth in Gosport on Saturday 22nd May for Leg One of RBC 21. We wish the crew from 47 Regt RA, skippered by Colonel Jules Facer, the best of luck. You can follow their progress (and that of the entire expedition) via the yacht's Yellow Brick Tracker system: just visit the website at http://yb.tl/RBC2021.or go to the Blog under Offshore Menu where there is a link to see St Barbara V's position.

Some great pictures in from the crew, including of their opportunity to practice receiving a hi-line transfer from a passing HM Coastguard SAR helicopter.

Meanwhile the Club also has Bombardier III out on the water in The Solent conducting RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper certification training for officers and soldiers participating in later legs of RBC21
